While Brazil were the favourites,
Colombia had many rooting for them with their great performances so far
in the World Cup especially the exceptional star turn of attacking
midfielder James Rodriguez. After a disallowed offside goal by Colombia, Brazil scored once more with a fantastic shot by David Ruiz.
There was a ray of light for Colombia
with an 80th minute penalty by James Rodriguez but it was not to be as
in the end, Brazil was the victor!
Earlier in the day, Germany defeated France 1 – 0.
The 2 teams will meet in the Semi Finals.
